CHILD & ADOLESCENT THERAPY

Dr. Coleman is familiar with the complex ways mental health challenges manifest within children and adolescents (e.g. inattentiveness, oppositional behavior, and frequent mood changes).  Therefore, she takes a multi-systemic approach to treatment planning that includes the entire family.  She places great emphasis on treating the entire person not simply their symptoms.  Focusing on the entire family system verses one individual child is one of Dr. Coleman’s strengths. Treatment plans may include components such as individual and/or family therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or group therapy. Dr. Coleman completed her child training at Miami Children’s Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, University of Chicago, and The Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center.

To schedule an appointment and discuss fees and payment plans please contact info@drmarissacoleman.com.  Initial assessments are 1.5 hours long, and all standard therapy sessions are 45-50 minutes. There are limited sliding scale spots available. The practice accepts Georgia Medicaid and WellCare CMO insurance.  The practice does not bill additional insurance companies, but does provide patients with the documentation needed to apply for reimbursement from out-of-network insurance benefits.
